(SIAS) – Investors’ Choice Awards 2010
Phillip Securities Pte Ltd (a member of PhillipCapital) clinched the ‘Best Retail Broker Award 2010’ in the recently held Investors’ Choice Awards 2010 recognised by the Securities Investors Association of Singapore (SIAS), 5 October.

Phillip Securities is best known for seizing opportunity in Internet trading, being the first in Singapore to offer online stock trading through POEMS since 1996. SIAS recognises the company’s legacy of keeping in touch with its clients' needs, as more retail investors are expected to trade online. In an interview with Singapore’s Business Times, Mr. Loh Hoon Sun, Phillip Securities’ Managing Director, attested that “Equities remain as the most traded products on POEMS. Most of our clients who trade online are between the age group of 30 to 50 years of age.”
“Being financially stable, more in tune to the technology, and more learned in terms of trading and investment matters are the key reasons that online trading is popular among this group of investors,” he adds.
As more young retail investors are expected to enter the market, Mr. Loh expects growth in its Internet trading segment over the next year or so.
